I never thought that TTA could be so exciting
Haha yes, still on the TTA boat. BUT a few new changes. The last couple cycles, my body has been agreeing with the pill (TMI - 2 week periods) sooo Jared and I decided to just stop taking it. Especially since I'm only visiting him for two more weeks and then it'll be a long 10 months where we'll only see each other every month or two (kind of hard to get pregnant that way). It feels so good to have taken my last pill, even though we're still TTA. Since I'm controlling, of course I went out and bought a basal body digital thermometer as well as the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility: The Definitive Guide to Natural Birth Control, Pregnancy Achievement, and Reproductive Health. I've heard it's the book to read whether you're TTA, TTC, or just want to know your body.
Regardless, I'm excited about this next step. Because it's one step closer to TTC, which we're looking at March 2014
Has anyone else read the book? Anyone else have TMI stuff going on as well

haha
Re: I never thought that TTA could be so exciting
I loved that feeling!!! We aren't really trying but not preventing either. It's all very exciting. I bet you will feel better being off the pill. It made me depressed.
but the minimal cramps was fantastic. Nothing new going on here. We missed our window this month between the pigs and j starting a new job not ST for us. Next month we will prevent because I have to be at a wedding may 2014. I wouldn't be able to go if I were so close to the due date.
tmi I never have EWCM.
It's so surreal, thinking that you're not too far away from TTC, getting pregnant, and having a baby... Especially when you've spent so many years trying to avoid getting pregnant! That's definitely going to be weird haha
Aww sorry for missing your window. One more month to try again! I can't even imagine being that close! Where is the wedding?
Ugh, I swear the pill definitely made me lose my sex drive. I had to actively try to get turned on. It felt like there was a wall there that I had to climb up each and every time. And I've always had an anxious personality, but I swear the pill adds to it, raising my blood pressure, etc. I'm sooo looking forward to feeling normal, even if I have bad cramps
I'm sure I'll realize more about how the pill made me feel once it leaves my system.
See i never had anxiety with the pill, but around o time and my period I thank god for my anxiety pills.
the wedding is in the north shore in Minnesota.
That'll be fun
are you just attending or are in it? There are such cute maternity dresses out there. You're going to have fun wedding dress shopping
Welcome to the temping club! Have you joined Fertility Friend yet to help track your cycles?
When I first when on the pill way back when, it made me go crazy. I would cry for no reason in the middle of the night. When I switched to low-dose, things were much better, but I was glad when I went completely off of it.
I JUST joined FF. I'm day three of my period so not too far into the cycle to start temping
I'm really excited to see what happens chart wise. Buuuuut not so excited to see side effects of getting off the pill. Oh, when I first went on the pill, I threw up quite a bit for a couple months, but then it stopped. But I still have a high gag reflex. I'm hoping for good things haha
Do you have the normal account on FF or the VIP account?
I had my six week check up and when asked about birth control I said we would just opt for condoms. Most dont like them but I like the no mess part lol.
DH and I also have decided that this time next year we will ttc number 2! If we get lucky and it doesnt take long we will be in the 2 under 2 camp...yikes!
Ahh! That's so exciting! Congrats! I don't mind condoms. The no mess part really is nice
J (of course) is the one who would prefer no condom, but they sure are coming out with some good ones with added features haha
2 under 2!? Wowie! J wants to just keep popping them out like that. We'll see haha. Gosh, that is going to be so much fun for you!
I never really noticed how much I had to make myself get in the mood while on the nuva ring until I went off of it before Lily. I'm on the mini pill now. It's super low hormones with no estrogen since I'm breast feeding. P and I have talked about the next one too. We don't want them too far apart. We agreed to start trying next March when Lily is 1. So if it happens right away they will be close to 2 years apart.
i still haven't had a period due to breast feeding. Just to be sure I did take a test yesterday. It was negative.
Yes, I read that book. It helped me a great deal. FF was also a HUGE help. I was able to realize that I had fertility problems so I went to the fertility doctor. I found out I was PCOS and was able to take progesterone (Provera to be exact) and the next month I conceived Liliana!
Good luck to all of you that are TTC. We won't be for a while. I want to land a teaching job and work at least a year before becoming pregnant.
Married the love of my life on 1-21-12. Our princess arrived on 5-28-13.
I will probably look into temping when we move out. I was actually basing it off of when Nutcrackers are! LOL!
I guess I am the weird one. J is the one that doesn't mind condoms and I would rather without.
You're not odd! I mean, I would enjoy without if I wasn't so anxious and paranoid about getting pregnant. Not our time yet. I'd be too worried to enjoy the act haha. I'm the controlling planner haha.
I lurked through the boards on tb and ended up getting a Mabris thermometer from off of amazon for 7 bucks. Not much beeping. Stores in memory the last temp you took so as you take your temp when you're half asleep, you can just roll over to go back to sleep and write it down later.
And the book is super interesting so far. I've finished chapter 3. Definitely a book not just for TTC, but for TTA and those just wanting to get to know their body. I'm happy I got it
I will be happy when we don't have to worry about restocking the condominium stash
And I happy there will be other TTC-ers here when it our turn hopefully this spring!
lol IPad fail. I still reference the book after tempting twenty some months. I also got mine off amazon but I don't like it beeps a lot. I can deal with it for 5 dollars. I also use opk which people argue hat they don't work for TTA but I like them for extra assurance.
Yes, iPad fail and yet it still sort of makes sense haha. Condom stash
I've been reading that a lot of people use opk. I may get some just for fun and for the weekends I visit J. Did you get yours off of Amazon too?
Hmmm so they have the 40 opk with 10 pg tests for $19.49 and 50 opk with 20 pg for $21.99. Soooo tempting
I've already ordered the book and the bbt. Let's see how much/far I can go before J says all the stuff isn't for TTA hehe

these are41 cents each.
I was eyeing thing one. It's only $1.50 more and you get the same 50 opks and you also get 20 pg tests

Are you part of the amazon student program? Since you ave an edu email?
that might help on shipping.
Yup! All items amazon prime = free two day shipping
Sounds fun
Soooo tempting. I may fold and get them when I'm back in California
Hahaha need free shipping?
How often do you use them? I'm just plotting about how often I'd have to buy them. I wish we could start trying sooner. If only we could guarantee that it would be a non-complicated pregnancy. Would totally start sooner haha
